“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
From time to time, I go back and read Praying the Attributes of God for a month. When I look at what I prayed for a year or two ago, I thank God for his faithfulness in answering my prayers. But sometimes I need to keep on praying. I have been praying for the salvation of a number of people for a long time.
As I look back, I cross out some of the prayers because the people I prayed for have passed away or God answered my prayer. I love to see the prayers that God answered. Those are the ones that I take time to say, “thank you.”
There is great value in writing down prayers and putting a date on them. That way, I am reminded of why I prayed at that time for certain things or people. God has promised to answer some prayers and I can pray those things with confidence. For example, Philippians 4:19 says “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Jesus does not say HOW he will supply our needs, just that he WILL supply them.
The one thing we can always count on is that God is faithful to keep his promises. He will keep them when and how he knows is best.
God does not need me to verify his faithfulness but my testimony is that in my lifetime, God has never failed to meet my needs whatever they are.
This book has been a blessing to me since 2010. Like you taught us, Maama Rosemary, I go back to it for à month or two from time to time. It is a treasure of biblical inspiration. Thanks for writing it; to God be the glory.
